Absence procedure

If your child is ill, please telephone school on 01522 683557 before 9.10am on each day of absence explaining the reason for absence.

We will then record in the register that your child has had an ‘authorised absence’ from school. Notification of absence is most important and we ask that you comply with this request at all times. If the school is not notified you will receive a phone call requesting a reason for your child’s absence.

Please ensure ALL contact details are up to date so we can contact you immediately should there be an emergency.

Late procedures

If you arrive after the start of the school day you will need to sign your child in at the office giving a reason as to why they are late.

If you arrive between 9.15am and 9.30am your child will be marked as ‘late’ in the register. If you arrive after that time your child will be marked as having an ‘unauthorised absence’.

Emergency school closure due to severe weather

If the school is forced to close due to adverse weather then all parents who have registered with Parent Mail will receive a message giving information about the school closure. We use this service to communicate with parents and carers in the event of emergency situations arising.

If Parents and Carers have not registered with Parent Mail then they should listen to either BBC Radio Lincolnshire or LincsFM 102.2 who will, as part of their severe weather service, broadcast up-to-date information on the schools within the county that are forced to close. BBC Radio Lincolnshire will also post the information on their website at www.bbc.co.uk/lincolnshire.

If you don’t hear anything, school is open as normal. Come wrapped up warm (with wellies) as we WILL be going out!
